I have a shit ton of 7"s. This is simply an excuse to get off my lazy 21st Century ass and make them more easily listened to as 1's & 0's. I then share. It's a symbiotic relationship. I may even toss in an occasional lp or something. If it's your OOP record and you don't want it posted, Just let me know. I'll gladly take it down. I'm easy.

MOR
These two things are utterly unrelated.
And I like it that way.
Jesus Loves You...So Give Us Your Money (1983)
Morbid Opera were from Ft. Lauderdale in the state of Florida.
It's punker than you. Three women and a dude.
Somebody else's 13 year old blog post says more than I could. I just have the record.
I like it so much I included a pic of the insert. That's how you know something is special.
Fuck yes.
Rockabilly Bungalow (1958)
And on a totally different plane of existence is George Morgan. An established mid-level country singer who had a hit in 1949 with a song called "Candy Kisses" (which is rerecorded for the flip here.)
With Rock 'n' Roll and its country flavored bastard chile Rockabilly taking over, a lot of established Country stars gathered up some studio guys and shat out some records trying to capture the fire of youth and some pocket change from what they thought would be a short lived teen fad.
So here is an over 30 George Morgan trying to gain a foothold in the teen market with "Rockabilly Bungalow" as written by the impeccable duo of Boudleaux & Felice Bryant (who penned many of the better Everly Brothers songs) and some fine Nashville studio folks "rocking" out behind him.
Was it a breakthrough hit for George into teen pop stardom? No.
Is it a pretty cool song anyway? Fuck yeah!
Roll up the rugs and have your own personal sock hop.

Just
Whatever. I'm on a roll
and there are poppy seeds.
They make my ass itch.
Are either of these singles a revelation of goodness?
Not really, I'd actually debated whether or not about posting them at all individually, but I do like to bundle names and concepts together.
So here we are.
Hook, Line and Sink Her (1977)
From Tampa, Florida came Just Boys who were Power Pop but leaned a bit more heavily on the Rock side of that equation.
Nice hair though.
I Can't Grow Peaches on a Cherry Tree (1966)
This is a 1960's Folk Rock duo by Al Gorgoni and Chip Taylor who together and separately wrote a shit ton of songs in the 60's. Chip Taylor being himself responsible for "Wild Thing" which I shouldn't have to remind you of. It's already in your head and irritating you just reading that. (He's also the hand behind "Angel of the Morning" which almost negates any good he ever did.)
Google the names and see how many you know.

The Front & Made for TV
Florida. It's a state full of alligators, old people and where people do very odd things for some reason. "Florida man" is an American archetype that seems to defy logic. While certainly that kind of strange stupidity goes on everywhere, there's such a seeming extreme concentration that occurs on that particular peninsula.
The Front (1982)
The Front were from Florida. This is their second single and is some fine quirky New Wave Pop. It's entertaining and does not involve alligators. I like it. There is even an "official" video for "Aluminum Room"
Made For TV (1983)
Made For TV made this little bit of new wave Cold War paranoia in 1983. Nothing interesting pops up on first google and I'm not caffeinated enough to venture beyond the first page. The label is from Washington DC and John Cale was involved. So there you have it. This single will need to be judged on its own merits. You can do that. I believe in you.

I Got Nothing Really.
I got nothing to say, but stuff to post. Here's a couple more 12" records.
Impotent Sea Snakes (1984)
The cover of this alone was worth the whatever paltry amount I shelled out for this beauty. It screams half assed high school punk band. Certainly not something you'd ever want to use to pad out a graphic design portfolio, but sometimes you have to let the significant other make the cover if want to continue to get some. They were from Tampa, Florida.
This is the Impotent Sea Snakes first effort and it appears that they did evolve into quite the elaborate performance artists with costumes and dancers and nudity and everything a boy could ask for including an endorsement from Ron Jeremy. The band wants to shock, offend and amuse you. Totally punk rock. Starting out with "Pope John Paul Can Suck My Dick" you kind of can get an idea of where the rest of this is heading. It's all very junior high school with a not overly special punk rock backing and ending with an out of nowhere relatively straight cover of Martha & the Vandellas "Heatwave" where the singer didn't quite learn the lyrics particularly accurately. For me the highlight of the whole experience would be "I Wanna Fuck Your Dad" which seems to hit the intended mark a bit more than some of the other songs. You can decided for yourself
I know nothing of Charlotte Pressler. There isn't much on the internet. She's backed by the ever fabulous and underrated Styrenes for this one. A band that formed in that never credited enough Cleveland scene in 1975 and eventually moved East to that really rather overrated NYC scene at some point after. They released a handful of lovely and essential things worth tracking down. ("Drano in your Veins" remains ever a favorite in my tiny little world)
The A side of this is a spoken word piece by Ms. Pressler with a fine musical accompaniment by the Styrenes. The B side is the same music accompaniment without the spoken word part which makes for quite enjoyable listening on its own but can also function for Charlotte Pressler karaoke which I can only imagine is the highlight of any social affair.Impotent Sea Snakes (1984)
